I’ve always got a trip coming up… I just like having something to look forward to and somewhere to research! My travel plans 2016 are shaping up quite nicely already.
So far this year I’ve been to Cape Town, South Africa in February – see one of my posts on this trip here Cape Town Eat & Drink
So that was February and April. Next up, May – and I’m heading over to one of my favourite European cities to visit some of my good friends who live there – Amsterdam! I can’t wait for cycling, brunch and catching up with my friends.
There might also be time (and funds) for a sneaky trip to New York in June… but only if I’m good at budgeting! My no:1 favourite city has a special place in my heart and I always feel instantly at home there. I’ve been lucky having a friend living there so I’ve been able to go annually over the past few years. Fingers crossed I can make it work and get on that plane – anything to see that skyline again.
July is the big one. My parents are both celebrating big birthday’s this year so we are embarking on a family holiday (we’ve not been away together for around 15 years!). Starting in Athens, Greece we have a 2 night stay, and plenty of time to soak up the sites, before boarding our cruise of the Mediterranean. With days ashore in Santorini, & Kotor, Montenegro I’m so excited for the photographic opportunities.
The ship also stops in Italy, somewhere we’ve been as a family before, so will bring back memories I’m sure. Firstly, Sicily and then the following day Naples for Capri and Pompeii. Finally sailing on to Barcelona where we leave the ship and fly home.
Later in the year is still panning out, but for now there’s plenty for me to be researching and planning. Also on my wishlist for 2016 is Bali – I’m feeling the need for some tranquil and tropical relaxation, a spa break and if possible a weekend in Morocco.
Have you travelled to any of these places? If so I’d love to hear your tips and recommendations.
Happy travel plans 2016
