5 different NYC activities

Having visited New York City quite a few times I am always looking for something new to try out and ways to experience some different NYC activities. Here are 5 things I have done in the city which made my trip a little more unique.

1. Get zen and take a yoga class in Central Park. For $15 (which is the price of most fitness classes in NYC) for an hour with a great teacher – Silvia (The Yoga Trail) and with an incredible view. Bring your own mat and stretch into that downward dog with some fresh air in your lungs and grass at your toes!

2. Get out of Manhattan for the afternoon and take the subway all the way to Coney Island.  Make sure you stop for a hot dog at Nathan’s Famous and take a ride at the retro Luna Park theme park.

3.See the Japanese cherry blossom trees in bloom at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden from late March/early April through to mid-May. Pretty in pink.

4.Take in different NYC view with the Roosevelt Island ariel tramway. The short journey goes high up over the East River and gives you fantastic views of the East Side with just a swipe of your subway MetroCard – perfect for enviable instagram posts.

5.Head to the roof garden at the Metropolitan gallery. Avoid the $25 entry fee and go straight up to the roof garden and bar for spectacular views across Central Park and down Fifth Avenue.
